Our Approach to Product Safety

TRILUMITY sells women's wigs, faux mink false lashes with adhesives, and reusable press-on nails — including press-on nail sets sized for kids, which are sold to adults. This page explains the safety standards that apply to our products, how to use them safely, and exactly how to report a concern, both to us and to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). We state plainly what applies and what we have and have not done — no vague safety badges.

Kids' Press-On Nail Sets: Applicable Federal Standards

Children's products sold in the United States fall under the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA). The standards applicable to kids' press-on nail sets include:

  • CPSIA lead limits: no more than 100 ppm lead in substrate materials and no more than 90 ppm lead in surface coatings such as paints and finishes.
  • Small parts requirements (16 CFR Part 1501): small-parts and choking-hazard rules for products intended for young children.
  • Phthalate limits for certain plasticized components of children's toys and child care articles, where applicable.

Our kids' nail sets are designed to comply with these applicable standards, and we specify compliant materials to our manufacturers. To be fully transparent: we have not yet completed third-party laboratory testing or issued a Children's Product Certificate, and we do not claim tested or certified status until that documentation exists.

Choking Hazard and Small Parts

WARNING: press-on nails are small parts and a choking hazard. Keep them away from children under 3 and from pets. Supervise children of any age during application, wear, and removal — a nail that pops off can end up in a small mouth. Store loose nails, sizing tabs, and files out of reach between uses.

About Age Grading on Kids' Sets

The age range printed on kids' nail sets refers to sizing — smaller nail beds — not to a safety rating or a suggestion that a child can use the product alone. Whatever the size, application and removal are adult-supervised activities, and purchases are made by adults. Our site is intended for adults 18 and older.

Not Sleepwear, Not Toys

Our products are beauty accessories. Wigs and their accessories are not sleepwear and are not subject to children's sleepwear flammability standards; do not let children sleep in press-on nails or wigs. Packaging films and bags are not toys — discard them promptly and safely, as thin films pose a suffocation risk to young children.

Adhesive and Glue Safety

  • Keep all lash adhesives and nail glues away from children at all times — before, during, and after use.
  • For external cosmetic use only; not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
  • Patch-test on the inside of the forearm 24 hours before first use; discontinue use if irritation occurs and rinse with water.
  • Avoid eye contact. If glue contacts the eye, rinse thoroughly with water and seek medical advice.
  • Use in a ventilated space and reseal the container immediately after use.

How to Report a Product Safety Concern

If you believe one of our products is unsafe, please act on both tracks:

  1. Tell us: email support@trilumity.com with your order number, photos, and a description. Suspected defects should be reported within 48 hours of delivery when possible — we reply within 24 business hours, and defective items are replaced or refunded at no cost to you.
  2. Tell the CPSC: file a report at SaferProducts.gov or call the CPSC hotline at 800-638-2772. Public reports help protect other families, and we support your right to file one.

Recalls

If a product we sold is ever recalled, we commit to: notifying affected customers by email promptly, posting a notice on this Site, stopping sales of the affected item immediately, cooperating fully with the CPSC, and providing a remedy (refund or replacement) at no cost to you. We monitor CPSC recall announcements relevant to our product categories.
